Low Used Abrasive Collection Rate
After a Cut you may notice that the amount of Used Abrasive collected in the Used Abrasive Buckets is lower than you would expect. It may be the case that after a Cut, there isn’t any Used Abrasive in the Buckets. This is not normal behavior; there are some things you can do to help improve the Used Abrasive collection of your WAZER.
Fundamentally this system works like this: Abrasive is pushed to the corners of the tank by the main jet. The abrasive is sucked up through the pickup filters by the venturi blocks. The abrasive and water is then pumped to the Used Abrasive. The water that powers this pump flows from the tank through the rear baffle through the drain filters and pressurized by the low pressure pumps.
Check: Is there an excess of Used Abrasive built up in the Tank? Stick a long screwdriver into areas around the Cut Bed and feel the depth of used abrasive.
Root Cause: If you allow too much Used Abrasive to build up in the Tank, the Pickup Filters that suction up Used Abrasive in the corners of the Tank can become packed or clogged.
Corrective Action: Run a few extra Tank Cleaning cycles by following the instructions in Maintenance > Maintenance Procedures > Tank Cleaning Cycle.
Corrective Action: If this hasn’t solved you’re problem then you will need to do a full tank cleaning Maintenance > Maintenance Procedures > Full Tank Cleaning.
Corrective Action: After the used abrasive is cleared from the tank bottom, please proceed to clean the venturi blocks and pickup filters.
Check: Is the water flow rate of the Used Abrasive Grommets low? Select Setup & Maintenance > Maintenance > Used Abr. Collect on the Control Panel. Remove the Front Tank Cover and find the Used Abrasive Grommets on the right and left sides of the WAZER. Observe how strong are the water streams flowing from these Grommets? Is the length of the water steam greater than or less than 2" (~50mm)
Root Cause: If the flow is weak, there is likely an air bubble or abrasive clogging the Filtration System. Once you clear out the Filtration System it should perform efficiently.
Corrective Action: Follow the guide Maintenance > Troubleshooting > Abrasive Out Flow is Weak
Check: Is there a strong flow rate from the Used Abrasive Grommets but no abrasive in the stream? Select Setup & Maintenance > Maintenance > Used Abr. Collect on the Control Panel. Remove the Front Tank Cover and find the Used Abrasive Grommets on the right and left sides of the WAZER. How strong are the water streams flowing from these Grommets?
Root Cause: If the flow is strong with no abrasive, the abrasive pickups are likely clogged up.
Corrective Action: Follow the guide Maintenance > Troubleshooting > Strong Flow with No Abrasive
Check: Is there no flow at all out of the Used Abrasive Grommets ? Select Setup & Maintenance > Maintenance > Used Abr. Collect on the Control Panel. Remove the Front Tank Cover and find the Used Abrasive Grommets on the right and left sides of the WAZER. How strong are the water streams flowing from these Grommets?
Root Cause: If there is no flow either all the venturi are fully blocked or the baffled part of the tank by the Drain Filters is full of abrasive.
Corrective Action: For either problem the solution is the same which is a to follow the procedure in Maintenance > Maintenance Procedures > Full Tank Cleaning.
Root Cause II: Please check if any of the Low Pressure Pumps are running warm. One of the telling sign of a degraded pump is the temperature.
Corrective Action II: Please contact customer support at support@wazer.com. Replacement low pressure pumps will be provided for you to swap out.

Make sure to Perform tank cleaning cycle after every 2 hours of cutting, ideally after every cut
Perform an Abrasive Pickup Clean ( Setup & Maintenance > Maintenance > Abrasive Pickup Clean) any time your machine has been standing still for a few days. This will loosen the compacted abrasive in the pickup areas in case the abrasive has compacted down on them.
