Quick Check for Abrasive Suction
This is a quick method for determining if the abrasive hose is obstructed or constricted in some way. When debugging a cut performance problem it is important to make sure that the abrasive is pulled from the Abrasive Drawer to the Nozzle.
Tools Needed
None
Procedure
1. Open abrasive drawer and remove the Abrasive Hose from the Abrasive Catcher.
2. Navigate to Setup & Maintenance > Maintenance > Nozzle Purge and start the routine while keeping your water on. Make sure to keep the abrasive hose plugged into the side of the nozzle.
3. While the Nozzle Purge is running place you finger over the end of the abrasive hose.
You should feel a strong suction.
If not, there is likely constriction or clog somewhere in your abrasive line. See Clearing Abrasive clogs and trace the path of the abrasive hose to make sure nothing is constricting the hose.
Pay attention to the section of hose closes to the cutting head/nozzle assembly. The hose wall will collapse if there is suction in that section.

Whenever doing any maintenance or moving your machine it is important to make sure that the Abrasive Hose is clear, not twisted or pinched by any zip-ties. Please check the following locations:
Follow the abrasive hose back from the nozzle.
Follow the abrasive hose back from the hopper end. This is on the bottom of the abrasive hopper.
